Chanel joined Holborn Adams as a Junior Paralegal following the successful completion of her LLB Honours degree in Law from the University of Derby. Over the past two years, she has developed into a skilled and trusted member of the team, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of criminal defence law.
Trained in-house by Holborn Adams, Chanel has gained a strong understanding of how a private law firm operates and how complex cases should be approached from the outset. Chanel has also supported the team on civil matters, further broadening her legal insight.
She has developed a particular interest in early-stage criminal defence work, with experience in pre-charge representations and early intervention strategies designed to prevent criminal charges from being pursued. Chanel handles cases with the utmost discretion and professionalism, often working closely with police to support the investigative process and ensure the best possible outcomes for clients.
Her interests in criminal law, medical law, and ethics continue to inform her approach to client care and legal strategy.
Outside of the office, Chanel enjoys music playing both the piano and flute and has a passion for travel and culture. Her experiences abroad have helped her develop understanding of different cultures and a global perspective that she brings to her work.

Indecent Images – SHPO Refused & Community Order Imposed
Holborn Adams represented a client at the Magistrates’ Court who had pleaded guilty to possession of indecent images. Through skilled advocacy, the defence successfully opposed the prosecution’s application for a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO), which was refused by the court. The client was subsequently sentenced to an 18-month community order.
Fraud - Suspended Sentence
Holborn Adams represented a client facing an allegation of fraud by abuse of position. Through strategic legal advocacy and persuasive representations in court, the firm secured a Suspended Sentence for the client, avoiding immediate custody.
Fraud - No Further Action
Successfully representing a Senior Doctor pre-charge regarding an alleged multi-million-pound fraud against the NHS, Holborn Adams undertook extensive defence preparation. As a result, no further action was taken against the client, with both police and regulatory investigations being discontinued.
